A2K-TDC-10M NMEA2000 Micro Cable Assembly - 10M
Available in various lengths, the cable assemblies can be used as either drop cable from a NMEA 2000 backbone or to extend the length of the backbone cable.
Actisense Lite cable assemblies allow quick installation and come with quality reassurance as only the Actisense UL-certified cable is used.
NMEA 2000 cable includes five wires within a single waterproof cable: power and ground wires, two signal (data) wires, and a drain wire. The drain wire connects to the cable shield, which protects the signal, power, and ground wires from external Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and helps reduce RFI emission from the cable.
NMEA 2000 Lite cable can be used to create a backbone up to 100 meters in length. If the backbone length required exceeds 100 meters, the center of the bus can be extended with an NMEA 2000 mini cable to keep the outer Lite sections to the 100-meter maximum.
The maximum length of a drop cable (distance from the backbone) is 6 meters. It is important to limit each drop length to the minimum required, as the total of all drop lengths must not exceed 72 meters.
The Actisense range of NMEA 2000 connectors and cables has been designed using our specialist interconnect and NMEA knowledge.
Technical Specifications:
The Actisense A2K-TDC-10M Micro Cable Assembly is designed for reliable and efficient marine data communication within NMEA 2000 networks. This 10-foot cable provides a robust connection option for extending backbone runs or creating drop connections, ensuring seamless data flow across your marine electronics system. The assembly features a waterproof design with five internal wires—power, ground, two data signals, and a drain wire—protecting sensitive signals from external Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and minimizing RFI emissions, which helps maintain optimal system performance. Constructed with UL-certified cables, the Actisense Lite series guarantees quality and safety standards, simplifying installation and ensuring long-term durability in marine environments. The cable's design allows backbone lengths up to 100 meters and supports drop cable lengths of up to 6 meters, with a total network limit of 72 meters for all drops, making it suitable for a variety of vessel sizes and configurations. The assembly's connectors feature brass, gold-plated male contacts and phosphor bronze female contacts, housed in a black PVC shell with rubber O-ring seals for IP67 water resistance when mated. The contacts are polarized with a standard M12-A configuration, ensuring secure and correct connections. The cable’s construction includes a 0.8mm PVC jacket with an outer diameter of approximately 0.27 inches, providing flexibility and protection in marine conditions. Rated for currents up to 3A and voltages up to 60VDC, this cable is ideal for powering and data transfer in navigation, autopilot, and sensor systems. The assembly's operating temperature range spans from -20°C to +70°C, with storage capabilities from -40°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable operation in diverse marine environments. Weighing approximately 1.52 pounds, it is lightweight and easy to handle during installation. For detailed installation instructions and technical specifications, refer to the provided owner's manual. Trust the Actisense A2K-TDC-10M for a professional-grade solution that ensures dependable marine data connectivity in all conditions.
