Available in various lengths, the cable assemblies can be used as either a drop cable from a NMEA 2000 backbone or to extend the length of the backbone cable.
Actisense Lite cable assemblies allow quick installation and come with quality reassurance as only the Actisense UL-certified cable is used.
NMEA 2000 cable includes five wires within a single waterproof cable: power and ground wires, two signal (data) wires, and a drain wire. The drain wire connects to the cable shield, which protects the signal, power, and ground wires from external Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and helps reduce RFI emission from the cable.
NMEA 2000 Lite cable can be used to create a backbone up to 100 meters in length. If the backbone length required exceeds 100 meters, the center of the bus can be extended with an NMEA 2000 mini cable to keep the outer Lite sections to the 100-meter maximum.
The maximum length of a drop cable (distance from the backbone) is 6 meters. It is important to limit each drop length to the minimum required, as the total of all drop lengths must not exceed 72 meters.

The Actisense A2K-TDC-5M NMEA 2000 Micro Cable Assembly is designed for reliable marine data communication and power transfer. This 5-meter waterproof cable features five internal wires—power, ground, two data lines, and a drain wire—encased in a durable PVC jacket with an outer diameter of approximately 0.27 inches. The drain wire connects to the cable shield, providing superior protection against external Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and minimizing RFI emissions, ensuring clear signal transmission in demanding marine environments. Ideal for creating a backbone network up to 100 meters, the cable can be extended with mini cables if longer backbone segments are needed, while each drop cable from the backbone should not exceed 6 meters to maintain optimal network performance. The assembly supports a maximum current of 3A and operates at a voltage of up to 60VDC, making it suitable for various marine electronics applications. The male connectors are brass, gold-plated for corrosion resistance, while the female connectors are phosphor bronze, also gold-plated, with a robust black PBT contact carrier and a black PVC housing. Features include standard M12-A polarization, a screw cap with nickel plating for secure connections, and rubber O-rings for sealing. The cable's power conductors are 22 AWG, data pairs are 24 AWG, and the drain and braid conductors are 22 and 37 AWG respectively, ensuring excellent electrical characteristics. With an operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C, and storage capabilities up to -40°C to +85°C, the Actisense TDC-5M is built for versatility and durability.
