The AddOn ADD-GMCP50-MX-ST is a versatile media converter designed to seamlessly convert 10/100/1000Base-TX RJ-45 signals to 1000Base-MX fiber using a 1310nm multi-mode fiber (MMF) ST connector. This enables network extensions up to 2 kilometers, significantly surpassing the typical 100-meter limit of copper Ethernet cables. By supporting optical fiber, the converter ensures durable performance with minimal signal loss and fast data transfers over longer distances, making it suitable for expanding enterprise or data center networks.
Built with PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) support, this device supplies power to compatible network devices over CAT5e, CAT6, or CAT6A cables up to 330 feet. It complies with IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at standards, delivering up to 52V/1.0A/50W of power. The converter functions as a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), combining data transfer and power supply over a single fiber-optic link, simplifying network infrastructure and reducing the need for additional power sources. It includes a single port PSE controller with features like PD signature sensing and power monitoring, as well as over-current protection and link fault pass-through (LFP). The LFP function monitors both fiber and copper ports for signal loss, ensuring network reliability by automatically disabling transmission in case of faults, thereby providing seamless link management.
