The AddOn ADD-FMCP-BX-UST is a versatile media converter designed to seamlessly transform a 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 Ethernet connection into a 100Base-BXU fiber optic link, supporting distances up to 20 kilometers. This makes it an ideal solution for extending network reach beyond the typical 100-meter limit of copper cabling, ensuring reliable high-speed data transfer over long distances. Its bi-directional (BiDi) single-mode fiber technology, utilizing 1310nm/1550nm wavelengths, provides durable performance with minimal signal loss and fast data transmission, suitable for demanding network environments.
This PoE-enabled AC/DC powered device acts as a power sourcing equipment (PSE), delivering up to 48V power over Ethernet cables to IEEE802.3af compliant powered devices (PD). The integrated PSE controller features PD signature sensing and power monitoring, ensuring safe and efficient power delivery. The converter also includes over-current protection and a Link Fault Pass-through (LFP) function, which monitors both fiber and copper ports for signal loss and automatically disables the transmitting port if a fault is detected, maintaining network integrity and reducing downtime.
