The Ancor 12-10 Heatshrink Butt Connectors are designed for reliable electrical connections in marine, automotive, and other demanding environments. Each connector features a cross-linked polyolefin tubing that offers superior strength compared to PVC, ensuring durability without the risk of burning during installation. The heat-activated adhesive lining provides an impervious seal against salt water, oil, acids, and sunlight, while also delivering strain relief to maintain a secure connection over time. The nylon insulator used in these connectors is preferred by industry professionals for its exceptional resistance to sunlight, water, oil, chemicals, vibration, and potential cut-through damage, making it ideal for harsh conditions.
These connectors are UL Listed and CSA Recognized, ensuring compliance with safety standards. They boast a high shrink ratio, shrinking to approximately one-third of their original size when heated to 257°F (125°C), with an operating temperature range from 40°C to 110°C. The heat-shrink process creates a waterproof seal that provides excellent vibration and strain relief, protecting electrical connections from environmental stressors. Tinned for corrosion resistance and made from pure copper, these connectors facilitate maximum current flow. The brazed seam enhances overall strength, ensuring a durable connection for demanding applications.
