The ATEN VE883ARK2 is a high-performance true 4K HDMI optical receiver designed for professional applications requiring long-distance signal transmission. It extends full 4K video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 or 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz (4:4:4 chroma subsampling) over a single duplex fiber optic cable, providing lossless and high-quality video, audio, IR, RS-232 control, and Ethernet signals across distances up to 10 kilometers. This capability makes it ideal for control rooms, industrial environments, hospitals, and large conference centers where high-resolution video and reliable connectivity are essential. The receiver's fiber optic technology ensures electrical isolation, immunity to RFI and EMI interference, and preserves signal integrity over extensive distances, eliminating the need for bulky cabling and reducing setup complexity. It features ATEN's proprietary FarSmooth technology, which prevents lagging and freezing by synchronizing output and input rates, maintaining a stable, smooth, and high-quality display that faithfully reproduces the source content without lag or artifacts. Designed for easy integration, the VE883ARK2 supports plug-and-play operation, hot-plugging, and rack-mounting, making it suitable for professional AV and control room installations. It also offers flexible connectivity options with dual USB 2.0 Type-A ports, allowing users to connect peripherals such as keyboards, mice, or other USB devices at a maximum transfer rate of 25MB/sec. The inclusion of IR bi-directional transmission enables remote control of source devices, with IR signals processed one direction at a time within the 30 kHz to 56 kHz range. Additionally, the serial RS-232 port facilitates connection to peripherals like touch screens and barcode scanners, broadening the scope of integration possibilities.
