The Axiom SFN7142Q-AX 40Gb Ethernet adapter delivers high-performance network connectivity for servers, workstations, and high-end appliances. Designed for installation in a PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot, this dual-port QSFP+ network interface card supports 40GbE connectivity and provides efficient data transfer while helping reduce power consumption and CPU overhead. Its Solarflare-based architecture is well suited for demanding enterprise networks, data centers, virtualization environments, and storage applications.
Built around the Intel XL710AM Ethernet controller, the Axiom SFN7142Q-AX supports advanced network virtualization and unified networking capabilities. VXLAN and NVGRE offloads help improve virtualized network performance, while support for NAS protocols such as SMB and NFS, along with SAN technologies including iSCSI and FCoE, allows a single network connection to support LAN and storage traffic. The adapter also supports virtual bridging technologies including VEPA, 802.1Qbg, BPE, and 802.1Qbh.
With support for up to eight physical functions per port and up to 128 virtual device queues per port, this 40Gb network card helps alleviate hypervisor I/O bottlenecks by separating traffic flows between virtual machines. Hardware queue support accommodates demanding workloads, with up to 1.5K non-RDMA queue pairs and up to 256K RDMA queue pairs. QSFP+ fiber connectivity enables high-bandwidth links between servers and compatible network components over longer cable runs.
The Axiom SFN7142Q-AX includes both full-height and half-height mounting brackets for flexible installation in compatible systems. It is supplied as a plug-in card intended for server and workstation environments and is backed by a limited three-year warranty.
