Emergency Parallel Switch - 12/24V - 500A

This Motorized Switch offers remotely activated, high current, emergency parallel connection suitable for emergency starting of large engines (up to 2500A for 10 seconds).

The emergency parallel functionality is conveniently operated via a momentary button on the dash, which when activated, will parallel the batteries for 10 minutes. Once the 10 minutes has passed, the switch turns off, removing the risk of start batteries becoming flattened following a parallel switch being inadvertently left on.

Designed and constructed for the harsh marine environment, utilizing tinned copper conductors, stainless steel nuts, and high temperature, fiber reinforced plastics to ensure longevity. The units are ignition protected, provide On/Off switching operation, and may be recessed or surface mounted.

Features:

  • 12/24 volt operation (both battery banks must be same voltage)
  • Manual override option
  • 10 minute remotely activated emergency parallel function (no voltage sensitive function)

Technical Specifications:

  • Volts - 12/24V
  • Rating - 500A
  • Dimensions (L x W x H) - 4" x 4" x 4.3"

In the Box:

  • Parallel Switch

The BEP Marine Emergency Parallel Switch Part Number 720-MDO-EP is designed to provide reliable high-current emergency battery parallel connection for marine and industrial applications. This motorized switch allows for remotely activating a parallel link between two battery banks, enabling emergency starting of large engines with up to 2500 amps for 10 seconds. Its user-friendly operation is controlled via a momentary dash-mounted button, which, when pressed, energizes the switch and connects the batteries for a preset duration of 10 minutes. After this period, the switch automatically turns off to prevent the batteries from being drained or damaged due to inadvertent left-on operation. This feature ensures both safety and operational reliability in critical situations. Constructed from durable, high-temperature, fiber-reinforced plastics with tinned copper conductors and stainless steel nuts, the switch is built to withstand harsh marine environments. It is ignition protected, suitable for surface or recessed mounting, and offers both manual override and remote activation options. This versatility makes it ideal for applications where quick and safe battery management is essential, such as in large vessel starting systems or heavy-duty industrial setups. The unit operates at 12 or 24 volts, provided both battery banks share the same voltage, and is rated to handle up to 500 amps continuously. Included in the package are the switch itself and an instruction manual for proper installation and operation. Designed for durability and safety, the BEP Marine Emergency Parallel Switch is a vital component for ensuring reliable engine starting in emergency situations while maintaining high standards of safety and environmental compliance.

Features:

  • 12/24 volt operation (both battery banks must be same voltage)
  • Manual override option for manual control
  • 10 minute remotely activated emergency parallel function with no voltage sensitivity
