The Black Box Emerald EMD2002PE-T-R2 PE KVM-over-IP transmitter delivers secure, high-performance access to computer systems across standard TCP/IP networks. Designed for data centers, control rooms, medical environments, and enterprise IT deployments, this KVM extender lets users work from a remote location while the connected hardware remains centralized. It supports point-to-point extension over CATx cabling up to 328 feet, or can operate across IP networks and WAN connections for broader deployment flexibility.

High-Quality Video and Peripheral Support

Emerald PE provides pixel-perfect dual-head DVI-D video with resolutions up to 1920 x 1080, making the Black Box EMD2002PE-T-R2 suitable for applications where image clarity is essential. USB 2.0 connectivity supports remote keyboard, mouse, and other compatible peripherals, while audio support helps maintain a complete desktop experience for media-rich workflows, including video editing, photo editing, monitoring, and technical visualization.

Scalable and Resilient Architecture

This Emerald transmitter can connect with compatible receivers directly or through an Emerald or IP switch to create a scalable matrix switching environment. Systems can begin with a simple point-to-point configuration and expand by adding endpoints without requiring additional chassis or cards. Up to 32 endpoints can be supported without a dedicated KVM management appliance, while larger installations can be centrally managed with the Boxilla KVM Manager. Dual network connectivity supports redundant links for improved availability in demanding 24/7 environments, and RJ45 and SFP interfaces provide flexible network integration.

Virtualization and System Management

The Emerald PE platform supports access to physical and virtual servers, including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V environments using RDP 8.1 and RemoteFX. Administrators can manage user access, bandwidth, endpoint deployment, and firmware updates through the receiver on-screen display or Boxilla's browser-based management interface. The transmitter supports Windows platforms and includes a 12-volt power supply, power cord, dual-head DVI cable, and USB 2.0 Type-B cable for convenient installation.
