The Black Box KVS4-8001HX Secure KVM Peripheral Defender is designed for secure defense and intelligence applications where sensitive data requires computer and peripheral isolation. It controls KVM operation for one computer with one HDMI display and CAC, helping protect connected systems from unsecured peripherals and potential security threats.

Certified for the NIAP Protection Profile for Peripheral Sharing Device Version 4.0 and tested under the USA scheme, the Defender is built for secure data handling. Isolated data channels, one-at-a-time data relays, inverted relay control signals, and non-reprogrammable ROM help prevent data leakage between ports and protect the unit's functions from compromise.

HDMI/DisplayPort FlexPort Technology supports single-monitor or dual-monitor HDMI/DisplayPort video interfaces, USB HID, and stereo audio. The unit supports HDMI or DisplayPort video up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, along with CAC devices such as smart-card and biometric readers. Secure EDID learning and video emulation maintain keyboard and mouse connections during switching while restricting the discovery of newly connected peripherals.

Built-in tamperproof seals and a long-life internal anti-tamper battery add physical security for connected devices. The desktop-form-factor KVM switch includes an external power supply with a locking connector, is made in the United States, is TAA compliant, and meets RoHS environmental compliance requirements. A 3-year limited warranty is included.
