BA-130 Break Away Mount
The CMC BA-130 Breakaway Unit is designed for boaters navigating shallow, debris-heavy waters, allowing for safe passage over obstacles. It minimizes damage to both the boat and motor while providing up to 45 degrees of movement.
The BA-130 is rated for outboard motors up to a maximum of 130 H.P. The unit is mounted between the boat transom and the outboard motor. It is designed to help minimize damage to the outboard motor and boat transom only when an obstruction is encountered while running at speeds under 5 M.P.H. in the forward direction. As it encounters an obstruction, momentum causes the motor to deflect and rotate up to 45 degrees to slide over the obstruction. A drawbar spring is incorporated in the unit to help return the motor to its normal position. The drawbar spring also holds the motor at the normal position while operating in the reverse direction at low R.P.M. The BA-130 is not designed to encounter obstructions while the boat is being operated in the reverse direction.
The unit is pre-drilled with the standard B.I.A. hole pattern. For motors that have clamps with thumb screws, CMC part #13022 Transom Clamp Adapter is required. Product weight is 28 pounds (shipping weight is 33 pounds) and carries a limited 1-year warranty against defects in workmanship.

WARNING: The BA-130 is rated for outboard motors up to a maximum of 130 H.P. Do not encounter obstructions at speeds over 5 M.P.H and only in the forward direction. The BA-130 is not designed to encounter obstructions while the boat is being operated in the reverse direction.
The CMC Marine Products BA-130 Break Away Mount is designed to provide boaters with a reliable solution for navigating shallow and debris-laden waters. This mount allows the outboard motor to deflect up to 45 degrees when encountering obstacles at speeds under 5 miles per hour, helping to prevent damage to both the boat and the engine. Its strategic design ensures safe passage over submerged logs, rocks, or debris, making it ideal for fishing, hunting, or exploring in challenging environments. The BA-130 unit is compatible with outboard motors rated up to 130 H.P. and is mounted between the transom and the motor, offering ease of installation and durability. Constructed to withstand rough conditions, it features a spring mechanism that returns the motor to its normal position after deflecting and also maintains the motor at the correct alignment during low RPM reverse operations. The pre-drilled mounting holes follow the standard B.I.A. pattern, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of transoms. For motors with clamp systems utilizing thumb screws, a transom clamp adapter (part #13022) is recommended for secure installation. Weighing approximately 28 pounds, the BA-130 is built for strength and longevity, backed by a limited one-year warranty against workmanship defects. This product is an essential accessory for boaters seeking to protect their vessel and engine while navigating challenging waters at low speeds. Proper use involves operating the boat forward at speeds below 5 M.P.H., avoiding obstructions at higher speeds, and not encountering obstacles while reversing. The unit's robust design and spring return technology make it a dependable choice for safe boating in shallow or debris-filled waterways.
