GPS160 TriNav Sensor w/iKonvert NMEA 2000 Interface Bundle
The GPS160, a high performance positioning sensor using GPS, Galileo and Glonass satellite systems for exceptional positioning accuracies and redundancies.
TriNav technology allows all three systems to be simultaneously utilized for navigation. The device can also be field programmed for a variety of modes such as single GNSS operation (eg Galileo only) as well as output configurations such as update rate, NMEA sentence structure etc
The GPS160 is available with a NMEA 0183 output (4800, 38400 and 115200 baud programmable) and a USB variant for PC, MAC and Linux. For NMEA 2000 systems, a bundle is available with iKonvert allowing easy and flexible NMEA 2000 installation without the need for cumbersome drop cables.
The GPS160 also support an external MOB switch or device. When activated, it creates a synthesized AIS SART MOB message on the NMEA output which can be interfaced with a local plotter for MOB identification.
The GPS160 supports GPS, Glonass and Galileo positioning. Our TriNav technology is used to combine signals from all three systems to compute the best possible fix accuracy and reliability.
Galileo is the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) that has been developed over the past two decades. It joins the GPS and GLONASS systems and offers mariners a 3rd reliable positioning source. It is planned to be fully operational in 2020.
Features:
The Digital Yacht GPS160 TriNav Sensor is a high-performance positioning device designed for reliable mariner navigation. Utilizing GPS, Galileo, and Glonass satellite systems, this sensor offers exceptional accuracy and redundancy, ensuring precise positioning even in challenging environments. The innovative TriNav technology allows all three satellite systems to be used simultaneously, providing a robust fix and seamless navigation. The device can be configured for specific modes, such as single GNSS operation (e.g., Galileo only), and supports various output configurations like update rate and NMEA sentence structure, making it adaptable to different system requirements.
The GPS160 is available with multiple output options, including a programmable NMEA 0183 interface supporting baud rates of 4800, 38400, and 115200, as well as a USB variant compatible with PC, Mac, and Linux systems. The bundle includes the iKonvert NMEA 2000 interface, facilitating easy installation within NMEA 2000 networks without cumbersome cabling. This flexibility enables seamless integration with existing marine electronics, enhancing navigation capabilities and system interoperability.
Additional features include support for an external MOB switch, which, when activated, generates a synthesized AIS SART MOB message on the NMEA output. This feature allows quick MOB identification and position plotting on compatible devices. The device's multi-GNSS support, combined with advanced anti-spoofing algorithms, ensures robust performance with interference rejection, making it suitable for professional navigation systems like ECDIS. The GPS160 operates with ultra-low power consumption and offers user-selectable update rates up to 18Hz, providing real-time positioning data critical for safe and accurate navigation. Its compact design fits standard industry mounts, making installation straightforward in a variety of marine environments.
