Tripp Lite by Eaton NetCommander 16-Port Cat5 KVM over IP Switch - 2 Remote + 1 Local User 1U Rack-Mount

The Eaton Corporation Tripp Lite B072-016-IP2 NetCommander 16-Port Cat5 IP KVM Switch provides a robust and flexible solution for managing multiple servers and computers within data centers, server rooms, or remote locations. Designed for seamless remote and local access, this rack-mountable switch allows administrators to control up to 16 servers from virtually anywhere using a web browser or dedicated client software. Its compatibility with Windows and Linux operating systems ensures broad usability across various environments. The switch supports VGA video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, delivering crisp visuals necessary for effective server management.

Constructed with a heavy-duty steel housing, the device is built to withstand frequent use in demanding environments. Its dual Ethernet ports and dual power supplies provide redundancy, ensuring continuous access even if one network or power source fails. The switch employs a patented Fast Virtual Media KVM System, facilitating file transfers and device management as if connected directly to the server. Virtual Media transfer speeds reach up to 12 Mbps when used with compatible Server Interface Units, enhancing remote operations involving disk images or ISO files.

Security features include multi-level password protection, RADIUS, and LDAP/S authentication, safeguarding access from unauthorized users. Up to three users—one local and two remote—can simultaneously access different servers, enabling collaborative management. The inclusion of dual serial ports allows control of serial-managed devices such as IP PDUs, firewalls, and routers, with the ability to assign specific ports for power cycling or shutting down connected equipment. The system also supports IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, future-proofing network compatibility. Management is streamlined through free NetCommander software, which provides a unified interface for controlling all connected KVM switches and IP PDU outlets. This comprehensive package ensures reliable, secure, and efficient server management for enterprise environments.
