Its dual Gigabit Ethernet ports ensure reliable primary connection with automatic failover capability, making it ideal for wiring closets, branch offices, and remote sites where quick troubleshooting is critical. The device supports secure access through industry-standard authentication protocols including TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, and Kerberos, ensuring your network management remains protected against unauthorized access.

This console server features eight RS-232 serial ports that connect via standard Cat5e/6 patch cables, simplifying integration with Cisco devices and other serial equipment. It includes a built-in stateful firewall and embedded DHCP server, allowing the creation of a dedicated management LAN for sensitive traffic. Additionally, connecting an external modem such as the Multitech MT9234MU-CDC-XT or US Robotics USR5637 (sold separately) enables out-of-band access, maintaining remote control even during network outages. The device also supports PowerMan PDU and UPS management through Network UPS Tools, enabling remote power control and monitoring of connected equipment.

Designed for flexible deployment, the console server's compact, heavy-duty steel housing can be rack-mounted with included hardware or placed on a desktop using four rubber feet, which help prevent slipping.
