In captive modem mode, it can be managed through Ericsson NetCloud as part of a unified networking environment, helping organizations centralize configuration, policies, monitoring, and lifecycle management. Power can be supplied through a standard power connection or Power over Ethernet (PoE), providing a practical installation option without requiring coaxial cables.

When paired with an eligible Ericsson NetCloud service subscription, the R2105-5GB supports centralized cloud-based management, software and firmware updates, online training, and technical support.
