The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2105-5GB R2100 5G ruggedized modem and wireless router delivers high-performance cellular connectivity for vehicles, public safety systems, mass transit, and industrial IoT deployments. Its integrated 5G NR and Cat 20 LTE modem, antennas, and Wi-Fi 6 router are housed in a ruggedized enclosure designed for exterior vehicle mounting or installation on IoT cabinet enclosures. The streamlined design simplifies deployment by eliminating the need for separate antennas and coaxial cabling.

Flexible 5G Connectivity for Vehicle and IoT Networks

The R2105-5GB can operate as a self-contained 5G router or supplement an existing supported Cradlepoint router as a high-performance 5G adapter. In captive modem mode, the router can be managed through Ericsson NetCloud as part of a unified network solution, helping organizations simplify configuration, monitoring, and ongoing administration. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support enables convenient installation while delivering a high-speed Ethernet connection to the controlling router or connected network.

With an active Ericsson NetCloud service subscription, the R2100 platform supports centralized cloud management, software and firmware updates, online training, technical support, and subscription-based warranty coverage. NetCloud analytics use GNSS/GPS and 5G or 4G cellular health data to provide location visibility, signal-strength insights, and historical coverage mapping. These capabilities help fleet and IT teams identify connectivity issues, optimize deployment locations, and integrate cellular networking into Automatic Vehicle Location systems.

Security and Scalable Network Management

Advanced security capabilities include an application-aware, zone-based firewall, CP Secure Threat Management with intrusion prevention and detection, and CP Secure Web Filter support. The R2105-5GB also supports NetCloud Exchange, a zero-trust-oriented WAN and security architecture designed to simplify policy management and secure distributed 5G deployments. The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2105-5GB is TAA compliant, RoHS compliant, and includes a GPIO cable, accessories kit, and mounting template for supported installation environments.
