The ERICSSON WIRELESS EP5G Cradlepoint R920 Series ruggedized modem/wireless router, part number TAA-MA01-0920-C7A-NA, delivers flexible cellular connectivity for vehicles, IoT deployments, and demanding remote environments. Designed for DIN rail mounting, the R920 provides a durable networking platform that supports deployment standardization across mobile and fixed applications. Its ruggedized construction, GNSS/GPS capabilities, CBRS band support, and compatibility with Cradlepoint NetCloud service plans make it suitable for transportation, utilities, oil and gas, smart city infrastructure, kiosks, building automation, and private cellular networks.

High-Performance Vehicle and IoT Connectivity

When paired with an appropriate NetCloud Mobile service plan, the R920 provides a managed in-vehicle networking solution with location tracking, cellular coverage mapping, application visibility, analytics, and optional security capabilities. The router can also be expanded with the Cradlepoint RX20 Managed Accessory to add a second LTE or 5G modem. For IoT deployments, NetCloud Ruggedized IoT services enable centralized management, scalable device connectivity, APIs, SDKs, third-party integrations, and support for onboard edge containers. The R920 also supports NetCloud Exchange services, including Zero Trust Network Access and cellular-optimized SD-WAN.

Network Management and Security

Cradlepoint NetCloud software provides cloud-based tools for deploying, monitoring, and securing connected vehicles and IoT devices. Available capabilities include a stateful zone-based firewall, application-aware policies, intrusion detection and prevention, web filtering, network analytics, and cellular health monitoring. GNSS/GPS and cellular data can be used to view current and historical vehicle locations, analyze signal strength, and create detailed coverage maps. These tools help IT teams improve visibility, troubleshoot connectivity, and manage distributed edge networks more efficiently.

Connectivity and Included Accessories

The R920 includes a Gigabit Ethernet port for high-speed wired networking, a built-in USB port for compatible USB devices, and wireless connectivity designed to support demanding applications such as HD video streaming and file transfers. The package includes the R920 modem/wireless router, a 3-meter GPIO cable with a small 2x2 black connector, and a mounting template. The router is TAA compliant, meets RoHS 2 environmental requirements, and includes a limited lifetime warranty.
