The Icy Dock MB992SK-B is an internal dual-bay mobile rack designed to install two 2.5-inch SATA or SAS hard drives and solid-state drives into a standard 3.5-inch drive bay. Its space-saving design helps maximize storage density in small form factor systems while supporting high-speed data transfers for modern storage applications. The rugged matte black metal construction is well suited for workstations, industrial PCs, media servers, medical systems, and other demanding environments.

The MB992SK-B supports SATA 6Gbps and SAS 3.0 12Gbps through a single channel, while remaining backward compatible with SATA 3Gbps drives and host systems. A SAS host controller is required when using SAS drives. One SATA 15-pin power connection supplies power to the entire mobile rack, helping simplify installation and cable management. The removable tray system allows drives to be installed, removed, or serviced efficiently without taking apart the enclosure.

Security and drive protection are built into the enclosure. An eagle-hook locking system and two-segment safeguard key lock help keep installed drives securely in place, while EMI grounding helps protect storage devices from electrical interference and damage. Active Power Technology provides independent activity indication for each bay, with the LED illuminating only when a drive is installed. Anti-Vibration Technology helps create a stable operating environment for both hard drives and SSDs, and Multi-Flow Technology promotes passive airflow for reliable thermal management.

Compatible with 2.5-inch SATA or SAS drives measuring from 7mm to 9.5mm in height, the Icy Dock MB992SK-B offers a durable and serviceable storage solution for systems with limited internal space. The enclosure complies with RoHS requirements and includes a user manual, eight M3x4 screws, and two keys. A three-year limited warranty supports long-term deployment.
