The Icy Dock MB994IPO-3SB is an internal full-metal drive bay adapter designed to install two 2.5-inch SATA or SAS hard drives or solid-state drives plus one slim optical disk drive in a single 5.25-inch device bay. Its compact format makes it well suited for small form factor PCs, industrial computers, home servers, network-attached storage systems, home theater PCs, and all-in-one computers.

The MB994IPO-3SB supports SATA III and SAS 2.0 interfaces and accommodates 2.5-inch drives with 9.5mm, 12.5mm, or 15mm heights. Dual 4-pin power connectors help provide stable power to both storage drives and the slim ODD, including demanding 15,000 RPM SAS drives. The full cage design, aluminum body, and top tray covers help protect installed components while supporting convenient drive installation and removal through the EZ Slide Mini Tray and EZ-ODD Tray systems.

For thermal management, the adapter includes a 40mm cooling fan with a dedicated on/off switch. Activate the fan for high-performance hard drives or intensive workloads, or turn it off to reduce noise and power use when operating solid-state drives. Front-mounted status LEDs provide at-a-glance activity visibility for each storage drive, making the MB994IPO-3SB a practical solution for flexible storage expansion in space-constrained systems.
