The Newmar Power PT-7 Battery Charger is a versatile and durable solution designed for 12-volt systems used in marine, military, commercial, and recreational vessels. Featuring advanced Smart battery charging technology, the PT-7 provides a three-stage charging process—bulk, absorption, and float—that ensures fast recovery, optimal battery conditioning, and extended battery life. Its intelligent circuitry interacts with various battery types, including gel-cell, flooded lead-acid, and AGM, with a simple selector switch allowing users to switch between these modes for the most efficient charging profile.

Constructed in a rugged stainless-steel case with a white powder coat finish, the PT-7 offers excellent resistance to harsh marine environments. The internal circuitry is polyurethane-coated for additional corrosion protection, making it suitable for demanding conditions. The charger includes multiple isolated output banks and an ammeter to monitor total output current, except for the PT-7 model. An optional temperature compensation sensor adjusts the output voltage based on ambient temperature, ensuring batteries receive ideal charging regardless of environmental changes. Safety features such as current limiting, thermal protection, and forced air cooling enhance reliability and prevent damage from overloads or overheating.

The PT-7 is not only a powerful charger but also a flexible power supply. Its well-regulated, clean output can be used to power loads directly without a battery in line, offering additional utility in various applications. It complies with ABS-type standards for battery charging and power supplies, meeting several international safety and performance regulations, including CG and CE certifications. With a maximum output of 7 amps and two output banks, it supports battery capacities ranging from 14 to 70 amp-hours, making it suitable for a broad range of vessel sizes and configurations. Its compact size and lightweight design make installation straightforward, while its robust construction ensures long-term durability in marine environments.

The PT-7 features adjustable output voltages for different battery chemistries: approximately 14.0 VDC for gel-cell and 14.2 VDC for flooded/AGM batteries at 50% load, with float voltages around 13.6 and 13.4 VDC respectively. It operates efficiently within a temperature range of -10°C to +45°C, with linear derating at lower temperatures. Certified by USCG, CE, and ABS standards, the PT-7 is a reliable choice for professional and recreational marine applications, offering peace of mind with its comprehensive protection features and rugged design.
