With up to 16Tb/s of non-blocking aggregate switch throughput and sub-90ns port-to-port latency, this rack-mountable 1U switch is designed to support bandwidth-intensive workloads and next-generation server architectures. The MQM8790-HS2F provides 40 HDR 200Gb/s ports with full bidirectional bandwidth per port, making it suitable for top-of-rack leaf connectivity and cluster deployments ranging from small installations to extremely large-scale data centers.
The QM8790 is built around Mellanox Quantum InfiniBand technology and supports in-network computing through Co-Design SHARP technology. This architecture enables active data center devices to accelerate communication frameworks using embedded hardware, helping improve application performance for distributed computing and advanced analytics. The switch can also support up to 80 HDR100 100Gb/s ports when used with splitter cables, providing flexible connectivity options as network requirements evolve.
