PropOne Silicone Remover is a specialized 200ml solution designed to effectively remove PropOne coatings, including clear coats and thin silicone layers, from marine propellers and running gear. Its easy-to-apply brush-on formula simplifies the removal process, allowing users to strip multiple stubborn layers with minimal effort. This marine-grade product is formulated without toxic Dichloromethane and N-Methylpyrrolidone, ensuring safer handling for operators and the environment.
PropOne Silicone Remover not only facilitates the removal of silicone-based coatings but can also serve as a general-purpose silicone remover for thin coatings on various surfaces. When used alongside PropOne Paint Stripper, it enables comprehensive stripping of paints, varnishes, and lacquers, making it an essential part of maintenance and refurbishment routines. It is important to avoid using this product on plastic surfaces or resin-impregnated wood fiberboard materials; testing on a small, inconspicuous area is recommended on delicate surfaces to prevent damage.
Application is straightforward: first, clean the surface of marine growth, then apply approximately 2mm of Silicone Remover with a brush, covering the area with cling wrap in hot or windy conditions to prevent drying. Do not allow the remover to contact water, and let it sit for 2 to 3 hours until the coating softens. Removal involves scrubbing with a stiff nylon or wire brush in a circular motion, followed by wiping residuals with a cloth soaked in xylene or toluene. If coatings persist, a second application may be necessary before proceeding with the PropOne Paint Stripper for complete removal. This product ensures a clean, prepared surface ready for repainting or recoating, streamlining maintenance tasks for marine professionals and enthusiasts alike.
