The device can serve as a primary bootable device when installed in a PC or workstation, supporting high-performance SSD configurations for intensive workloads. Its flexible RAID options include individual, JBOD, RAID 0, and RAID 1 modes, which can be selected using the included disk mode switch or the QNAP External RAID Manager utility for Windows® users. RAID 1 provides data redundancy by mirroring data across drives, while RAID 0 maximizes performance through data striping, albeit without redundancy. JBOD mode combines the drives into a single large volume for maximum storage utilization, with no data protection. Installing the QDA-A2AR in a NAS allows for efficient storage expansion or SSD caching, leveraging hardware RAID to offload processing from the CPU and maintain optimal NAS performance. It supports creating SSD volumes for high-speed workflows or tiered storage environments with Qtier. Drive health and RAID status can be monitored via the QTS Storage & Snapshots Manager, providing proactive management of your storage environment.
