P79S Smart Sensor with SeaTalkNG Adapter with A80373 A06045
The P79S brings depth intelligence to your boat. Featuring Airmars Smart Sensor technology, the P79S delivers processed depth data right to the onboard network for multiple displays to use.
The P79S includes a plastic mounting base that is aligned to the centerline and secured inside the hull. Then it is filled with non-toxic antifreeze. The transducer is inserted into the base and adjusted for the proper deadrise offset, ensuring the beam will be shooting straight down for maximum echo returns. The antifreeze provides the best medium to transmit through solid fiberglass and into the surrounding water. The major benefit of an in-hull transducer is no protruding features on the exterior of the hull, making it the perfect choice for trailered or lifted boats. Designed for smaller boats up to 8 m (25') with a solid fiberglass hull.
Airmar's Smart Sensors have embedded microelectronicsthe transducer element and signal processor are only millimeters apart. The signal from the depth transducer is processed right inside the sensor itself. All that is needed to receive depth data is a single cable into a compatible network or display. Available as an analog sensor or a digital Smart Sensor that can output in the NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 format.
Features:
The Raymarine P79S Smart Sensor is designed to bring precise depth measurement to your small fiberglass boat, providing reliable data through innovative Smart Sensor technology. Compatible with SeaTalkNG networks, this sensor delivers processed depth information directly to multiple displays, enhancing navigation safety and efficiency. Its compact design and in-hull installation make it an ideal choice for boats up to 25 feet, especially those that are trailered or lifted, as it eliminates exterior protrusions for a sleek appearance and reduced drag.
The P79S features a durable urethane transducer mounted inside a plastic, hand-adjustable base that aligns with the boat’s centerline. The installation involves filling the base with non-toxic antifreeze, which ensures optimal transmission of sound waves through solid fiberglass hulls into the surrounding water. This method guarantees clear, accurate readings even while the boat remains in the water, allowing for convenient installation without hull drilling. The transducer’s beam is aimed straight downward, maximizing echo returns for dependable depth readings up to 100 meters (330 feet) on NMEA 0183 models and up to 150 meters (500 feet) on NMEA 2000 versions.
Powered at 60 watts and operating at a frequency of 235 kHz, the P79S is designed to prevent mutual interference with other echo sounders on your vessel. Its narrow 7-degree beamwidth ensures focused sonar signals for precise depth detection. The sensor is available in both NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 formats, providing flexible integration with various marine electronics. Installation is straightforward, with no holes to drill; the adjustable base allows for easy alignment and setup, even with the boat in the water. The included NMEA 2000 certified cable assembly ensures a reliable connection to your network, streamlining the integration process.
Overall, the Raymarine P79S Smart Sensor offers an efficient, maintenance-friendly solution for depth measurement on smaller fiberglass boats. Its in-hull installation, compact form factor, and advanced electronic processing deliver consistent, high-quality sonar data, making navigation safer and more confident for boaters seeking a reliable depth sensor integrated seamlessly into their onboard systems.
