The StarTech.com 8K-AOC-10M-DP-CABLE is a DisplayPort 1.4 hybrid active optical cable designed for long-distance transmission of high-resolution video and audio without external power. Its active optical construction supports 8K 60Hz video, HDR10, and high-quality audio for commercial display installations. The cable uses fiber optic cores for high-bandwidth video while copper conductors carry lower-bandwidth signals such as EDID and HDCP.

Supporting up to 32.4Gbps through High Bit Rate 3 (HBR3), this cable handles compressed video up to 8K 60Hz and 4K 240Hz with 4:4:4 8-bit color when Display Stream Compression 1.2 is used. It also supports uncompressed video up to 8K 30Hz and 4K 120Hz with 4:4:4 8-bit color. Additional DisplayPort 1.4 features include HDR10, Forward Error Correction, HDCP 2.3, 32-channel audio, and 7.1 surround sound formats.

Its CMP-rated PVC jacket is intended for routing through commercial plenum spaces, including ceilings, walls, and air-handling pathways where low-smoke and flame characteristics are required. Shielded copper conductors and fiber inner cores help reduce electromagnetic interference, while Aramid fiber reinforcement adds tensile strength during installation. The flexible cable is designed for tight routing requirements and is rated for more than 6,000 bending cycles at 120 degrees.

This StarTech.com cable is unidirectional and must be installed according to the SOURCE and DISPLAY markings on its connectors. Etched DisplayPort 1.4 specifications on the Quick ID connectors help identify supported bandwidth during installation. The black cable is supplied as one cable and includes a 3-year limited warranty.
