Its multispeed 2.5GBASE-T capability negotiates at 2.5Gbps, 1Gbps, 100Mbps, or 10Mbps, making it compatible with both modern and legacy network equipment.

Power over Ethernet Connectivity

The StarTech.com PR12GIP-NETWORK-CARD supports IEEE 802.3af PoE and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standards for Power Sourcing Equipment. It can provide up to 48V DC and 25.5W of power to compatible Powered Devices, with up to 30W available from the adapter as a power source. This PoE+ functionality helps connect and power remote devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, RFID readers, access control systems, and kiosks without requiring a separate injector or local power supply.

Flexible Installation and Management

Use existing Cat5e or Cat6 cabling while adding NBASE-T compatibility through the 802.3bz standard. The card installs in an available PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot or higher and includes both a standard-profile bracket and a low-profile bracket for compatible small form factor computers and servers. Supported features include PXE boot, Wake-on-LAN, VLAN tagging, full-duplex operation, and 9K jumbo frames for efficient network traffic handling. Compatibility with Windows, Windows Server, and Linux supports deployment across a range of business and home IT environments.

A built-in heatsink helps maintain controller performance, while LED indicators provide link and speed status at a glance.
