Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp 5/8 Band, Hose I.D. - 1-7/8 to 2-1/2, Hose O.D. 2.25 to 3.125
Virtually all rubber hose compresses (cold flow) after installation of clamping device, resulting in an almost immediate torque loss that can exceed 80% of installation torque. Similarly, virtually all metal connections expand as a system heats up, and then contracts as the system cools. Conventional worm gear, T-bolt, and other clamps are passive, in that expansion or contraction of components cannot be compensated for with out re-tightening or loosening the clamps. This clamping system is an active clamping mechanism, which monitors and then compensates for the changes by actually changing diameter through a unique worm gear Belleville assembly.

Trident Marine 730-2000 Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp is designed for reliable, long-term sealing on rubber hose connections subject to vibration, temperature changes, and material compression. The clamp features a 5/8-inch-wide stainless steel band and accommodates hose inside diameters from 1-7/8 to 2-1/2 inches, with compatible hose outside diameters from 2.25 to 3.125 inches. It is well suited for marine, automotive, industrial, and other applications where consistent clamping pressure is important.
Rubber hose commonly experiences cold flow after installation, which can cause conventional clamps to lose a substantial amount of their original tightening torque. Metal connections can also expand as a system heats and contract as it cools. Unlike passive worm gear and T-bolt clamps, this Trident Marine constant torque clamp uses an active worm gear and Belleville spring washer assembly to respond to these changes. The mechanism helps maintain more consistent pressure by compensating for hose compression and thermal movement without requiring repeated manual adjustment.
Constructed for durability, the band and housing are made from 304 stainless steel, while the Belleville spring washers and screw use 401 stainless steel. For smaller inside-diameter applications through 730-3000, the recommended maximum torque range is 30 to 70 inch-pounds. For larger inside-diameter applications above 730-3000, the recommended range is 50 to 120 inch-pounds. Select the correct torque for the application and follow proper installation procedures to help prevent hose damage while achieving a dependable seal. The Trident Marine 730-2000 combines corrosion-resistant construction with active clamping performance for demanding hose connection service.
