The V-Twin 24-7278 fork slider assembly can be rebuilt using OEM components, making it a practical option for custom builds, replacement applications, and serviceable front-end upgrades. Fork slider assemblies are measured from the top of the tube to the axle center; this model provides a 2-inch-shorter configuration than the standard-length reference. It is listed for select 1984 through 1998 Harley-Davidson FXST models, including the 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1998 FXST.
This factory sample is new pre-production merchandise and may have cosmetic surface imperfections, installation marks, or fitment-test marks. These samples do not have physical defects such as cracks or holes, but threaded and bearing holes should be checked for excess plating before installation. Drain the assembly lubricant before use. V-Twin recommends 20-weight fork oil for average riding conditions, with 10.2 fluid ounces required per fork leg. Professional installation and verification of brake, axle, and bearing fitment are recommended.
