The V-Twin 35-1780 OKO 47mm Shorty Carburetor Kit is an R-2 version replacement carburetor designed for select 1966–1975 Harley-Davidson FL models. This shorty-style OKO carburetor accepts S&S air cleaners and uses the S&S “E” type air cleaner mount bolt configuration. Shorty E carburetor components and rebuild parts are interchangeable, making this kit a practical choice for service, replacement, and custom motorcycle projects.
This kit is intended for use with a dual-cable throttle assembly and requires a carburetor support bracket for attachment to the air cleaner and the stud between the cylinders. Additional holes in the air cleaner backing plate may be needed for proper installation. The installed main jet is #190, and using Loctite during installation is recommended to help secure the mounting hardware. The air cleaner is not included with this kit.
When using a custom air cleaner, the V-Twin 35-1780 requires the #35-0725 OKO Carburetor Enrichment Assembly because the enricher must be changed for this application. For compatible installation components, consider the OKO Performance 1-7/8-inch Shorty Carburetor, 1-7/8-inch Intake Manifold, Power Intake Manifold Clamp Kit with Flat Seals, and Chrome Air Cleaner Support Bracket. This kit is manufactured in Taiwan and supplied as a complete kit for supported applications.
