V-Twin Factory Sample Bobbed 4.5-Gallon Gas Tank for Harley-Davidson

Gas tank uses a 1975-up type petcock and has a fuel capacity of 4.5 gallons. For use with 4 speed models only.

The V-Twin Factory Sample Bobbed 4.5-Gallon Gas Tank is designed for select Harley-Davidson applications and features mounts with stock hardware. This tank is compatible with 1983-up filler necks and provides a classic bobbed profile for custom motorcycle builds and restoration projects. It fits a range of Harley-Davidson FL and FX models, including select applications from 1949 through 1984. Verify the motorcycle model, frame, filler neck, dash, and fuel-line configuration before ordering.
All tanks and tank sets require hand fitting to achieve proper alignment for the dash and fuel line. The dash may also require shimming during installation to achieve the correct height. This tank does not accept older Fat Bob dash components, and the required mounting kit must be ordered separately. Test-fit the tank and related components before painting. Check the petcock opening to confirm that the petcock can be installed easily, and mask or plug the petcock fitting during painting to simplify final installation.
As a factory sample and brand-new pre-production part, this tank may have cosmetic imperfections, surface marks, or evidence of installation testing. Threaded and bearing holes should be checked for excess plating before installation. The weld seams may require filler to meet individual finishing requirements; do not grind or sand the seams, as doing so may cause leaks.
