SKU:35-1949
The V-Twin MR-3 Linkert Carburetor Assembly, part number 35-1949, is designed for vintage Harley-Davidson WR racing applications from 1941 through 1950. This complete assembly includes newly installed components, a bean pot bowl with Nitrophyl float, and a Bombsight Venturi. Its compact carburetor body does not include provisions for a choke lever, and the door bore measures 1-1/4 inch for compatibility with the intended racing setup.
The MR-3 design uses similar high- and low-speed needles because the low-speed circuit does not incorporate the rocker mechanism. The M-3 jet holes measure .045 inch, while the nozzle holes measure .042 inch. A Linkert M-75 main nozzle is installed, along with a nozzle spring cut to the required length. Fixed jets in various sizes are available separately, allowing the carburetor to be tuned for different racing conditions. Air jet number 7, 8, or 9 is recommended depending on the engine and racing configuration.
The four-bolt flange pattern is intended for WR and KR manifolds. Many features developed for the M-3 were later incorporated into 1952 through 1956 K models, making this assembly a suitable choice for period-correct restoration, racing preparation, or replacement of a worn original carburetor. The V-Twin 35-1949 assembly is supplied as a kit and includes components selected for dependable fit and service in compatible Harley-Davidson applications. Installation instructions are available through the manufacturer.
Fitment includes 1941-1950 Harley-Davidson WR models. Suggested related components include a Linkert carburetor bowl lock nut, brass throttle lever, side-valve float bowl kit, and throttle shaft kit. Review manifold compatibility and tuning requirements before installation to ensure proper operation.
