Upgrade your Harley Davidson FXST with the V-Twin Rear Rigid Hardtail Section, designed for models from 1986 to 1995. It is compatible with a 140-size tire and can be customized to fit a variety of rear pulley sizes, including 51, 61, and 70 tooth configurations, offering flexibility for different setups. The kit includes a transmission mount plate and clamps for secure mounting, with the transmission plate installed in the front softail frame and the rear bolt fitting into the hardtail for proper alignment. The hardtail accepts 1987-1999 Softail rear calipers and brackets, with the bracket welded on the right side for added stability. To accommodate a 3/4 inch axle in a 7/8 inch slot, axle sleeve spacers are required and sold separately. The oil tank connects to the fender crossbar, and 1-inch clamps are recommended for mounting the rear oil tank, which must be welded in place by an experienced fabricator for a secure fit. Installation involves aligning the hardtail with the frame using the transmission and top hardtail plates, with dowel pins used for precise positioning before tack welding for final assembly. The axle plate inside measures approximately 9.5 inches, with spacers available to facilitate installation.
