Reed Switch Fuel Sender - 180mm

Most aftermarket fuel senders use a rotating float arm and resistance cards to measure the amount of fuel in a tank which can lead to erratic pointer movements. This revolutionary design comes with many benefits! This is ideal for applications where a conventional swing arm will not fit due to clearance issues. The tubular design acts as a dampener to prevent the gauge pointer from moving due to fuel slosh.

The floatless fuel sender has no side to side motion, which means it has no moving parts to wear out. It is top mounted and utilizes the aftermarket standard SAE 5 hole mounting flange and comes complete with neoprene gasket and mounting hardware.

Features:

  • Stainless steel construction
  • Ethanol resistant Viton gasket
  • 240-33 Ohm range
  • Fits tanks with a depth of 7.2" (180mm)
  • Insulated 1/4"" spade connectors
  • Standard 5 hole mounting flange
  • Works with most standard marine fuel gauges
  • Ground - Floating
  • Connection - Insulated .25" Spade

The VDO Reed Switch Fuel Sender (Part Number 226-618) offers a reliable and innovative solution for measuring fuel levels in marine tanks. Its unique design features a floatless, tubular construction that eliminates the common issues associated with conventional swing-arm fuel senders, such as erratic readings caused by fuel slosh or wear over time. This makes it an excellent choice for applications with tight clearance spaces where traditional sensors may not fit. The stainless steel body ensures durability and resistance to harsh marine environments, while the ethanol-resistant Viton gasket provides a secure, leak-proof seal that withstands fuel additives and corrosive elements.

This fuel sender is designed to fit tanks with a depth of approximately 7.2 inches (180mm) and utilizes a standard SAE 5-hole mounting flange for straightforward installation. It features insulated 1/4-inch spade connectors for reliable electrical connections and is compatible with most standard marine fuel gauges. The sensor's ground connection is floating, and it operates within a resistance range of 240-33 Ohms, allowing accurate fuel level readings across a broad spectrum. Its top-mounted design and sealed construction prevent side-to-side movement and wear, ensuring long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance. This unit is sold individually, providing a cost-effective, high-quality option for marine fuel measurement needs.

Please note that this product may contain chemicals such as lead, which are recognized by California as hazardous. For safety and environmental considerations, refer to the provided warning and visit P65Warnings.ca.gov for detailed information.
