The Volt Tech Stainless Steel Tuneable Ignition Advance Unit (Part Number: 32-9220) delivers three selectable advance RPM settings—1400, 2000, and 2600—via three color-coded spring sets, enabling precise timing for Harley-Davidson FL and FX engines from 1970–1978.
Constructed from durable stainless steel with heat-treated weights, this unit is designed to withstand demanding conditions and is compatible with all ignition points, whether single or dual-fire. It replaces the stock advance unit and integrates with the engine’s timing system to improve responsiveness and reliability.
Included with the unit are different spring options: stock advance springs for a straightforward upgrade, gold severe-duty springs (13-9247) for high compression or heavily modified engines, and silver springs (13-9246) for engines that are slightly modified.
